Wow, It's been a long time...
Posted: 7 months ago | By user: volkswatson   _

I was just noticing how long it has been since last post. EEK. I really haven't gotten much more done since that time. I have been working like a dog at the Church, so haven't had the time. Anyway, I did get the entire front beam back on and together, as well as the front brake assembly. I am planning to get some more done soon, now that it has cooled down in TX, so dont give up on me!

Installing Beetle Window Seals
Posted: 1 year ago | By user: VolksRide   _

Rear Beetle Window with Seal and trim installedSo, I've manged to install window seals on my Beetle This was the easy part. Reason being, the rear window is more or less symmetrical. Meaning it is not like the front in which it curves inward. They sell window seals with the rubber pre-formed, but since I already purchased the ones I have, i'm trying to make it work. Anyone has any tips, that would be apprciated. -Marquis

Summer is almost here!!!
Posted: 1 year ago | By user: sanmarko   _

So I have been very busy trying to get my baby on track. I just replaced the plugs, generator ( I figured it out), coil, points, etc...etc.... The only thing that has giving me grief is the damn condenser. That little cylinder thing on the side of the distributor. I finally tracked the right one (I hope). The next step after this is to fix my rear hatch, which the parts are on their way, and then I can drive it to work. I can't wait to get her ready for the Summer!!!

UK VW Scene
Posted: 1 year ago | By user: phibertek   _

Londres BusI was in the UK for about a week and I only seen one VW on the street. I spent most of my time in London, drove 2 hours north and 1 hour south and suprisingly I only seen one VW. What is the deal? I thought the VW scene in the UK was hot? I know they push out two kick-butt magazines that I read often, but I was suprised at how few Vintage Volkswagens are on the streets. ptek

When to NOS or not-NOS..
Posted: 1 year ago | By user: phibertek   _

NOS 1956-57 Volkswagon Rear Wheel BearingThe question is when to purchase new old stock and when not for your Volkswagen. At what point in your project does one make the decision that everything should or not be NOS. In the journey of my Volkswagen restoration project, I started out in the beginning stating that everything must be authentic for it to land on my ride. If it wasn't originally on my Beetle and couldn't be restore, then the replacement part had to be N-O-S. This was a really easy mission to derive in the planning room, but miraculously, my idea changed like Donald ...

So it has been raining in San Diego for the last couple days. WTF....I left Sacramento because I hated rainy days. We'll the Squareback is still hibernating. Can't wait for summer to come by....then it will awake and turn heads as I cruise down the sunny beach streets.
