Do you have bad heater channels? Are they all rusted out? Want to replace them? Its not really as hard as you think. I replaced a heater channel on my 69 Beetle and I wrote an article on how I did it. Safety is the most important thing when doing a job like this ... so be careful. Also, the article I wrote is how I did it. It is by no means an absolute or how-to for you to complete the job. That will depend on your skills and your techniques. ... Read more >> |

My 66 beetle was under 4 feet of salt water during Hurricane Katrina. The engine had salt water in it for a couple weeks and it ate the magnesium case from the inside out. It also was seized up tight. So I had a new engine built:
It has a new AS41 Case and every part is new with the exception of the heater boxes |

This is my 1966 Beetle. It was actually badly damaged in Hurricane Katrina. It was under 4 feet of salt water. The engine is trashed (new one has been built). The transaxle has a hole eaten through it. My 1969 Beetle was destroyed also. It is gone, but I did a heater channel replacement on it, the how I did it is still on my web site.
The trans axle had water salt water in it also and it ended up eating a hole in it from the inside out. A new ... Read more >> |

In the next few days, there will be a modification to the front page of the portal. We are going to take one image from your blog if any and display it on the front page. The image willl be modified and properly thumbnailed for a faster load. We haven't decided as of yet, but the image might be the first picture or randomly selected upon page load to make things more dynamic.
Please comment if you would like to make a suggestion to better the layout of this site. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
-Mark |

My 96mm type 4 cyclinders were broken during shipping and Fedex crapped out on my insurance. Does anyone know if this is still good or not?

Hello,
I am thinking about selling my oval on a classified site, but I am not sure what is a fair price to sell it at. I bought this car about 7 years ago, but I have not had time to spend on it. I am thinking about selling it rather than letting it sit in my sister's garage. Unfortunately/Fortunately, I live in NYC and my time in Atlanta is limited. I bought the car in Arizona and had it shipped to where it is now. What would be a fair price for this?
The seats are dry rotted. ... Read more >>

I'll try to explain how i did to disassemble and assemble again the mirror in my 63, cause i dont have pictures of that, and it was one year ago, it might be not acurate as it whould.
First of all, my mirror was really ugly, rusty, and the glass wasnt good, it has a lot of scratches and was moldy, with that in mind i finally broke the glass to see how the mirror was assembled.
I found that it has something like a rivet to hold the part with the glass to the base, and i nedeed to separate ... Read more >>

I can't figure out why there isn't any suppliers of Volkswagen Type 4 conversion parts in the USA. This exaust system is designed by Remmel in Europe and widely used there. If you want to order one of these, you'll have to pay a hefty price on the system and the cough up cash to pay for shipping which is not cheap. With Jake Raby on the East Coast, I thought he would have designed something by now or had some type of relationship with Remmel. Jake, if you can hear me, please help! Oh well, ... Read more >>
